Panama Canal Sets New Records!

The Panama Canal Authority announced that the Panama Canal broke an annual record, and set two new single-day records as follows.
On September 19, 25 Panamax vessels transited the Canal, breaking the previous mark of 24 set in July 2003.
On the same day, 1.114 million tons transited the Canal compared to 1.072 million tons in May 2007.
During the fiscal year ending September 30, a record 331 million tons passed through the Canal.
